Clemson Spineless 80

55 days. 6-7” long, straight, tapered, ridged, slim, spineless, medium green pod. 4½-6 feet tall and prolific producer. Very widely adapted and popular. High quality. Excellent for freezing, canning, fresh market and home gardens.

 

Cowhorn 22

6-8 feet tall. Blooms slightly later than Clemson Spineless. Pods are a good green color, ridged, quite variable in length, some extremely long at maturity.  Pods seem to retain their tenderness at longer length than most varieties and have a medium amount of spines.  A good home garden variety and fairly well adapted to fresh market.

 

 

Dwarf Green Long Pod

50 days. 7-8” long, slender, ridged, dark green pod with moderate amount of spines. 3½-4 feet tall. Similar to Clemson Spineless except the plant is somewhat smaller and bears slightly earlier. A very good home garden variety.

 

Emerald Green

57 days. 7-9” long, round, smooth, spineless, dark green pod. 4-5½ feet tall. Very vigorous plant with heavy yields. Tender and succulent. Used for canning, freezing, home garden or fresh market.

 

 

Louisiana Green Velvet

59 days. 6-7” long, round, slender, smooth, medium green pod with noticeable amount of spines. 7-8 feet tall. Popular as a canning variety.

 

Perkins Long Pod

52 days. Pods are slightly longer and more slender than Clemson Spineless, but is very similar in most other aspects. 4½-6 feet tall and prolific producer. This is a useful fresh market or home garden variety.
